Kangaroo biscuits

The other day my mum and I made lemon kangaroo shaped biscuits which was really fun as I haven't done any baking in ages. It would be nice to have a magimix for things like this but ohwell. I better get practicing though because I'd like to apply for the great British bake off next year...means a lot of practice I guess!

Illustrations

I've been working on some illustrations lately for a poetry book that a friend is getting published. It's quite exciting but hard to juggle with uni exams. I've still got alot to do!

Dip Dye

Its seems i've jumped on the dip dye bandwagon. I thought it would be a fun experiment to dye the ends of my hair blue. It almost feels like i've made myself the subject of my next atr adventure, my hair feels like a blank (blonde) canvas. I wanted it to be a sort of mermaid-sea-green-blue because i haven't seen it on many people before. I also got an ear piercing a few weeks ago halfway up my ear...am i going of the rails? haha probably not. I didn't really think about how it would look for my spring formal, with a peach scallop trim dress, but then i guess matchy-matchy and perfection has never been my style..
Here's a few pictures of it!
i  didn't want to do too much incase it went wrong but i have a feeling it fades quite esily...maybe lilac next time?
it looks like seaweed!
new earring...not sure about it yet, maybe it'll look better if i put a hoop in once it's healed.

you can probably see the mess in the background..haven't really had time to clean up since my twin came to visit!

An update of life..

As much as i love uni, and love Art History (the course i'm doing), i can't help but feel lonely sometimes. It's really fun, we go out alot and drink etc etc. but it's sometimes really difficult, alone cooped up in a little room, unable to talk or be with anyone that truly understands you. I guess it's hard being away from my twin, and my two best friends (one living in Edinburgh and one in Amsterdam). In a way, they're irreplaceable and i can't seem to find anyone like them here. On the plus side, i'm taking a new art module which is all about experimentation with colour useage and paint..interesting. I'll be back in London in around three weeks and i can't wait to go back to some of the galleries and museums with all the new wonderful information i'm learning. I actually love it. It's nice to be doing something i like, however hard it is sometimes.
skyping some of my favourite people...papa bear and Angel (namesake of this entire blog!)
We've found a beautiful house for next year, i can't wait to move in and have an actual sofa!
One of my preffered bands of the moment, saw them at a brilliant gig space in the Bodega last week. it was a great show but the amount of 15 year olds present kind of ruined it a little.

Spray painting

Before going back to uni I decided that I wanted to take my bike to cycle to lectures, but my bike helmet was hideous. It was originally orange with crazy patterns all over it so I decided it might be fun to spray paint it. It's now gold! I didn't take the upmost care while doing it but I don't think it's too noticeable! To add to it I think I should get some plastic flowers to weave around my bike basket! I don't think I'll be cycling much any time soon though as its so snowy!

Alpaca obsession

I got this jumper recently from a vintage kilo sale and it's made from Alpaca wool, with an alpaca pattern all over it. Almost everyone knows how much I love llamas and alpacas, so this is now one of my most favourite jumpers! I think it must be from Peru as that's where they produce most alpaca wool garments.

i'm wearing it with the lace collar of my dress, I think the mix of textures is really interesting.

Inky things

Recently I've started experimenting with ink and watercolour. I was inspired by the forgotten side of nature - gnarled trees and withered branches, adding life to the pieces with colour. see what you think!
This is a study of some tree bark but to me it looks almost like bubbles.

study of a crocus (a little bit rubbish)

A part of a tree where a branch has been removed
